At our last meeting on May 26th our speaker was Stuart Tinsdale from The Rose Society of WA who shared his knowledge of roses, acquired over more than 50 years with our members and visitors. It was a very interesting and informative evening as Stuart guided us through pruning and caring for roses over winter.
Vanessa put together a great display table on Companion Planting for Roses – I am sure all our rose bushes will now benefit from all this information and put on a great show of flowers in spring!!
Pauline gave a short talk on chestnuts and having purchased some beautiful locally grown chestnuts from Chestnut Brae Farm near Nannup prepared and roasted a batch for us to try – just what we needed on a chilly autumn evening!
