We had a great meeting on Monday evening. We were lucky to have Esme come to speak with us from the Camellia Society of WA.
Esme has been a member of the Camellia Society and growing camellias for over 30 years so had a wealth of knowledge to share. She spoke about the different varieties available, best growing conditions, fertilizing, pruning and recommended checking your soil for the correct PH level to help ensure you get the best from your plants. She also bought many camellia blooms for us to see.
The Camellia Society has had a garden at Araluen Park for many years which is well looked after by their gardeners so an ideal place to check out varieties.
Our display table by Vanessa was very interesting on cinnamon, raffles were won and we had a lovely light supper after the meeting.
Spring is rapidly approaching according to my garden although we are not through official winter yet. See you all for the August meeting soon 😊🌱
